Sleeping as a couple is not just a matter of space and comfort. The way two people share a bed can reveal a lot about their emotional bond, especially if one of you — or both — sleeps with your back to the other. But what does this gesture really mean?
It’s not always what it seems
The first thing to understand is that the sleeping position does not always reflect a problem. Many times, it is simply a matter of comfort, body heat or sleep habits. However, if this change occurs suddenly or is accompanied by other cold gestures during the day, it may be sending a silent message that should be observed .
1. Need for personal space
Turning your back may indicate that the person needs a little more space for themselves, especially if they have been very exposed to stimuli or responsibilities during the day. It is not necessarily a rejection, but a way of “recharging” in solitude.
